Created in June 2014
This piece was completely handmade from scratch. I first started by cutting my own quilling strips out of medium weight white paper. I then mixed up a purple and a blue color with acrylics and painted the strips. Once they were dry, I quilled the vintage-inspired pattern. I made the wood frame from lathe strips and whitewashed the wood once it was sanded down. Finally, I glued the quilling paper design onto the wood.
This is one of my most favorite quilling pieces I’ve done to date. It was also my very first piece. It has been sold.
